About Sandhya Jathar

Sandhya Jathar

Sandhya Jathar is a rising star in the international art world. Based in Mumbai, India, Sandhya's work explores the intersections between culture, psychology, and memory. Sandhya’s body of work represents a microcosm of collective memory. Her paintings visually encapsulate a broad range of cultural, philosophical allusions, and psychology. Her diverse body of work includes landscapes, abstracts, figurative pieces, and still life paintings, all of which are characterized by their vivid use of color and dynamic compositions.

Sandhya's passion for art began in 2008, when she rediscovered her creative side while working as a human resources professional at Bank of America. Since then, she has pursued her art with a singular focus, earning numerous post-graduate certifications in psychology and taking part in exhibitions around the world.

For Sandhya, a failed painting is better than one that's just plain bad. She firmly believes that a failed painting is one that could have been great, as quoted by Larry Poons. Hence, her painting styles have seen experiments in various styles that overlap, from landscape, abstract, figurative to still-life. Sandhya prefers using oil as a medium and believes in bigger canvases that are a visual celebration of colors, just as life has to be big and wholesome.

Sandhya's artworks are captivating, each of them narrating a story with a myriad of visuals, hues, and a cacophony of emotions. Her deep experience and expertise in psychology add to the layers of meaning that her paintings carry, making them an immersive experience for the viewer.

Sandhya's preferred medium is oil, and she is known for her large canvases that make use of sweeping brushstrokes and bold color choices. Her art has been featured in numerous exhibitions, both in-person and online, including Orizzonti Trasversali in Milan, the Bombay Art Society's Art Grooves exhibition, and the India Art Fair at Nehru Centre.

As Sandhya continues to make waves in the art world, collectors and enthusiasts alike are eagerly anticipating her upcoming works and exhibitions. Her art is a testament to the transformative power of creativity and the importance of embracing one's passions, no matter where they may lead.
