Mumbai, India · Oil & acrylic on canvas
I don't follow a style.
I follow a thought.
Each painting begins as a story running in my head. Some days it becomes abstraction, some days Kathakali, some days birds in conversation. I don't choose the register — the story does.

The artist
I am not emerging from art school.
I am emerging from life.
Thirty years of watching people inside organisations across three continents. A childhood in Kerala. Mumbai on a particular afternoon. These are the places the paintings come from, and they decide the form — abstraction one day, Kathakali the next.
I work in oil and acrylic, often on large canvas, because scale creates physical presence. I want the work to be impossible to walk past quickly.

Mask-Age

My most personal work, painted as COVID unfolded in real time. Read anticlockwise from the bottom left, it becomes a calendar of 2020. It taught me that constraint is also a subject.
